Closing The Gap

October 19th – 22nd 2005

23rd Annual Closing The Gap Conference
Sheraton South
Bloomington, Minnesota
www.closingthegap.com

Well Closing The Gap is upon us again. It doesn’t seem nearly a year ago that we were enjoying an excellent conference and yet another “mild” Minnesota Fall. (I have yet to experience a cold CTG, let’s hope it’s not this year!)

Once again it looks like the people at Closing The Gap have put together a great conference. With over 175 excellent presentations (plus the pre-conference program) and an Exhibition Hall full of the best suppliers and manufactures of AT solutions from the US and around the world, this really is a conference not to be missed.

Inclusive TLC will have a booth in the Great Hall # 329, 330 (for you CTG veterans - just round the corner from our old position). Take this opportunity to come and see us! We will have all our great range of software, including Choose & Tell Nursery Rhymes, Big Bang and the SwitchIt! Series, as well as some great new titles including Switch Skills 1, SwitchIt! Hygiene and the exceptional SwitchIt! Maker 2 and ChooseIt! Maker 2. (If you thought the original versions were good you really must come and take a look at these!)

We also have some presentations at CTG so build these into your schedule and really get the most out of the conference.

Interactive Whiteboards and the Special Education Classroom

Summary:
Interactive Whiteboards are becoming a feature of many classrooms in the United Kingdom (36% of special schools have between 1 and 2, and 10% have between 6 and 10). This presentation will show ways in which they are used with students with severe and complex disabilities. The benefits and disadvantages will be discussed and ways in which difficulties with pupil access can be overcome will be suggested.
The different types of board will be discussed and ways in which they have been fitted into the classroom will be illustrated.
