SwitchIt! Maker
Problem:
There is no auido as I step through the pictures.
Solution:
This may happen when "two switch" has been selected from the access menu. In this state, the text will only be read out when the space bar (or switch that is sending a space bar key) is pressed. A mouse click or "Return" key will cycle through the pictures without reading the associated text.
Problem:
Why do my .wav files sound different after I import them into the program?
Solution:
This will happen if the sounds are recorded at a very low sampling rate. Ideally, recording should not be below 11.025.
Information:
In V1.5 there is no "Change Picture" button in the edit screen. Clicking on the picture itself allows users to change the picture.
Information:
If there is no sound, remember that for sound to be selected, "sound on" under the sound menu should be grey, and "sound off" should be bold. There have also been reports of no sound that has been caused by users having "two switch" selected from the access menu. In this mode, one switch turns the page and the other makes the sound. If you are only using one switch and have "two switches" selected, this may therefore seem as if sound has been disabled.
Information:
Software issued after December 2001 has updated installation capability which allows you to install to a non-default directory.
Information:
On some machines running Windows Millenium Edition (ME) If "Play" is pressed before "i'm finished" the Save function may not operate correctly. In this instance click "I'm finished" directly after recording the sound.
Information:
Transferring files from one machine to another:
From the file menu, choose "Show list contents"
This brings up a text file, showing all the files that must be transferred to the destination machine. If all these files are transferred into the same location on the destination machine, the list will be available.
The list name is irrelevant to the program.
